Manny Pacquaio vs. Timothy Bradley-Controversial Fight
Manny Pacquaio vs. Timothy Bradley-Controversial Fight
I predicted that Manny will have a sweet victory against Timothy Bradley that's why I created an article entitled "Manny Pacquiao wins over Timothy-Bradley" but I was wrong!
The controversial split decision of Manny Pacquaio vs. Timothy Bradley' fight is a very hot topic on the internet-from pro sports writers down to amateur writers and even small time bloggers.
Many Filipinos claimed that Manny Pacquiao should have been the one declared winner and even professional boxing analysts have the same sentiments too. So why did Manny lose the fight?
Judges CJ Ross and Duane Ford scored the fight 115-113 in favor of Bradley while Judge Jerry Roth scored it 115-13 for Pacquiao. The scores had the same margin (2 points) and surprisingly according to others the first two judges might have not listed it the right way. The names of the boxers might have been interchanged by judges Ross and Ford.
According to CompuBox, Pacquiao landed 253 of his 751 punches, Bradley landed 159 of his 839 punches. Pacquiao landed 90 power punches, Bradley landed 108 power punches. Pacquiao landed more punches than Bradley in 10 rounds, Bradley landed more punches than Pacquiao in two rounds.
Boxing is getting controversial as it hits more into the commercial world. The decision might have been done that way to generate more money on the next Pacquiao-Bradley bout which is due in November 2012. In other words, this might have been planned ahead of time. Some of you might disagree and would say that this controversial fight would cause lesser income but remember the old saying, "Negative press is good press as long as people are talking."
By the way, Manny din't lose the fight. The real losers were the fans who paid around $60 in PPV or $200 and up to see it live.
Anyways, Pac-man just do better next time - Timothy Bradley has to be knocked out this coming November. Goodluck sir Manny!
