Magnitude 6.4 Earthquake Hits Large Areas In Mindanao
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) has recorded a magnitude 6.4 earthquake that hit several regions in Mindanao late night of September 6, 2020. While Metro Manila was experiencing heavy rains and thunderstorms, PHIVOLCS officially tracked and issued a detailed bulletin showing the information of the earthquake in the southern part of the Philippines.
At exactly 11:23:40 PM, the sudden and violent shaking of the ground was noticed East of Don Marcelino Davao Occidental. The said event affected surrounding provinces as listed below.
Intensity V - General Santos City; Mati City
Intensity IV - Magsaysay, Davao del Sur; Koronadal City
Intensity III - Kidapawan City

Intensity V - Alabel & Malungon, Sarangani; General Santos City
Intensity IV - Koronadal City, & Tupi, South Cotabato; Kiamba, Sarangani
Intensity III - Gingoog City
Intensity II - Bislig City
Intensity I - Cagayan de Oro City
As of writing, no casualties were reported and no tsunami alert has been issued by the government agency. PHIVOLCS officials, however, are reminding local residents to stay cautious and anticipate aftershocks.
