A 7-year-old girl named Natalie was reportedly kidnapped in California right in front of the eyes of her own mother.
According to various sources, the daughter of Gina Calvo was abducted in Northern California on Friday night. The kidnap victim, together with her mom, went for a shopping at East Bay Walmart when an armed suspect allegedly followed them all the way to their home.
Highway patrol investigators said that at about 6:45 p.m, the suspect grabbed the kid when she got out of their car. Police said that Gina Calvo attempted to fight back with the man but she hesitated upon seeing the rifle of the kidnapper. The suspect then forced her daughter into his car and fled from the crime scene.
The California police quickly reached the media for help. Natalie's picture and information on the suspect and his vehicle were flashed on local TV stations.
Just before midnight, the kidnapper was nabbed by police officers at a downtown marina. The 7-year-old girl Filipina was also found inside the car of the suspect. Natalie was in good condition with no apparent injuries.
Police identified the suspect as David Allen Douglas, 43 years old and described as Filipino.
