Flappy Bird Video Game Provokes Murder?
Chicago, IL – There’s a boy, who just can’t get enough of the latest mobile game known as “Flappy Bird“. The game even triggered the boy to commit a crime. Experts and police detectives, who investigated the crime are now looking for some clues if “Flappy Bird” indeed has the capability to provoke its player’s murderous mind and cause them to commit an atrocious crime.
If you would ask me, I guess it’s all in the mind. It’s how you handle the feeling of failing to exceed your friends’ or your own high score. It isn’t reasonable enough to become vicious just because of a 2D game. Though there were reported cases, where first-person shooting games provoked players to actually shoot someone in real life, it’s hard to believe that Flappy Bird game can promote murder. I thought this case was very unlikely to happen until I read this news.
A viral news posted by Huzlers related a teenager killing his own brother. According to the blog post, just because of a heated debate over their Flappy Bird high scores, a Chicago teen named Gary Wright, allegedly killed his brother, Jabari Wright, after the latter teased Gary when he got a higher score of 17 compared to Gary’s 6. Things went out of hand and the argument ended with Jabari’s bloody carcass lying on the floor after Gary stabbed him 17 times–the same number that his brother bragged about. He immediately surrendered himself to the police while his parents declined to issue any statement yet.
“It’s a tragedy, he murdered his own brother because of a stupid game, I mean, Iv’e played the game before, and it’s hard as sh*t, f*ck that game! I couldn’t even pass 5, Why the f*ck are you a bird if you can’t f*cking fly straight, fake a*s Super Mario piece of sh*t!”.said Marco Grant, a police officer who was interviewed by Huzler.
While waiting for the trial, Gary Wright remains in the custody of Juvenile Temporary Detention Center. He is charged with a first degree murder. Gary told the authorities that the irresistible and annoying game is actually the one to blame.
“Anyone who has played that game would know why I did it,” Gary said to the local media.
There were a lot of negative comments in Twitter about this horrendous incident. They were in awe that someone actually committed murder because of Flappy Bird. Others decided to stop playing the game and worse, someone even said that the game was created by Satan. Dong Nguyen, the developer of the Flappy Bird game might have read about these harsh comments and got emotionally hurt which drove him to pull out the game from Google Play Store and Apple AppStore.
