A 6th grader of the University of the Philippines Integrated School (UPIS) in Quezon City won a gold medal at the recently concluded 2014 International Mathematics Assessments for Schools (IMAS) in Taiwan. John Henry Marquez garnered a perfect score in the prestigious Math competition.

Dr. Sun Wen-hsien, Chairman of IMAS Executive Board, announced the list of Filipino medalists on Friday. Dr. Simon Chua, president of the nongovernment Mathematics Trainers’ Guild-Philippines (MTG) also attented the awards ceremony. Aside from John Henry Marquez, 64 Filipino students also won the Math contest in various categories. Below is the list of winners.
