The lovers' memorable announcement, however, earned criticisms from various netizens who argued that it's highly unlikely that the two are indeed a couple.

There are two versions of the Mitoy and Mika love story. The first one was originally shared by a certain blogger who is known for satirical articles. The story of the clash of clan couple goes like this.
Before Mitoy and Mika became an online sensation, the two players virtually met to share some tips and remarkable strategies for the renowed multi-player game. They continue to communicate on the internet until they realized that they fell in love to each other. Several months passed, the Clash of Clan players finally decided to officially become a couple.
On the other hand, a more reliable story was published by an amateur blogger in Manila. According to the post, the girl in the photo is Althea Beruya Ronquillo and her boyfriend was identified as Pat Esconde Patricio. In the same report, the lovers who were initially called "Clash of Clan Couple" firmly denied that both of them engaged in playing the addictive online game. Moreover, they clarified that they were once workmates in Makati and after Pat revealed his love to Althea, they ended as lovers.
