A Barangay Kagawad in Dagupan, Pangasinan was caught on video deliberately attacking a security guard. A CCTV footage captured the entire altercation of the furious Barangay official and the poor mall security officer.

Mall goers were shocked when they saw a man punching a security guard assigned in a small department store along Fernandez Street, Dagupan. The security officer, who was later identified as Peter Paul Pangan, was calmly inspecting all the people entering the store when an angry man suddenly confronted him and challenged him for a fist fight. In the video, the Kagawad officer is seen hitting the security guard in the middle of a heated conversation.

The attacker named Marvin Gino Cruz, a Barangay official in the area, reportedly approached the guard when his father was allegedly suspected as a shoplifter by the security personnel. The accusations of the Kagawad, however, was denied by the guard.

When the suspect was interviewed by ABS-CBN news, he argued that his father was prematurely judged by the guard as a shoplifter.

A different side of the story was revealed when the victim “Peter Pangan” was interviewed by the media men. The guard claimed that the Barangay Kagawad became angry when the mall guard failed to immediately entertain him because there were too many customers in the mall. The poor guard learned the main reason of the issue when the Barangay official started to insult and curse him. In no time, the Kagawad hit him on his face as seen in the video.

Here are some of the quoted statements of the suspect and the security guard as published by ABS-CBN news.

During the initial conversation the Barangay Kagawad said, “Noong humarap na ako sa kanya, tinuturo niya 'yung matanda. Sabi, 'anong ginawa mo sa tatay ko?”

The security guard replied, “Noong nakita ko 'yung matanda, namukhaan ko. Sabi ko, 'sir, wala naman akong ginawa sa tatay mo, kinakapkapan ko lang po. Trabaho lang po.”

According to Pangan, the Barangay official also mentioned to him, “G*go ka pala e, ginanoon niya ako, pinangunahan na niya ako ng mura.” The Kagawad also threatened him, “Taga-diyan lang ako ha. Tandaan mo mukhang 'to ha.”

According to the available news reports online, the security guard who was slapped by the Barangay Kagawad is planning to sue and file charges against the abusive Barangay councilor in Dagupan.
