The patient stayed for almost a week in the medical center but she later died after her body failed to regulate the huge amount of slimming pills she previously took.
The worse condition of the victim was fully validated after the hospital in Zamboanga released the laboratory results of the beauty contender. According to Dr. Rosinee Monte, the medical findings indicated too much toxin circulating all over her body. Mary Acedo’s vital organs were also impacted including her liver.
Slimming drugs killed Miss Dapitan 2015 since she took 4 pills a day, a recommended dose for obese. However, Mary was only weighing 40 kilograms.
Due to the incident, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Zamboanga warned beauty contestants to be careful in taking food supplements and slimming pills especially if those sellers don’t have a validated FDA certificate.
