Jellibee Store Photo in China
Jellibee reportedly opened a new outlet in China with a weird twist of promotional advertisement. The spelling of the famous Filipino fast food chain was obviously tweaked.
A weird news involving Jollibee is circulating on social media. The hilarious photo showing the respected brand even reached mainstream blog sites such as When In Manila. In the post, a certain Filipino allegedly saw the funny name of the store when he traveled to a “remote province in China.”
The photo of Jellibee store in China was purportedly shared to the editors of the famous blog site by a person named Dennis T. Whoever that person is, let’s just take this report as true since we can not easily cross-validate the claim since there’s a lot of Dennis T. on Facebook and other social networking sites.
Additional details about the Jellibee store in China are also posted by other local bloggers in the Philippines. According to the authors, the brand name is just being used as “random fillers”.
So, what does it mean?
This Jellibee poster in China is just a placeholder. It doesn’t necessarily mean that the a store related to it will soon rise in the area.
However, we think that this is a good marketing strategy of that mall to capture the attention of real store owners to invest in the area. Come to think if there’s FM HyperMall or Glowrietta or Triyesma, wouldn’t it catch the attention of the real businessmen behind these brands?
The least reason that we can think of is a hate campaign against Filipino products. Though this is unlikely to happen, the possibility is not zeroed out.
Reactions of Filipino netizens online
When this news was initially spread on Facebook, many internet users jokingly said they want to order one piece chicken overjoy, CheeseBOOGER, Kidney Meal, and many more.
What do you think of this news? Will there be a real Jellibee store soon to open in China?
