Oldest Registered Voters Showed up at the Polling Precincts
Manila, Philippines – Two of the oldest registered voters in the Philippines appeared at the polling precincts to cast their votes for the 2016 national elections. Accompanied by their family and relatives, the senior citizens were excited to choose the next batch of leaders and lawmakers of the country.
Francisco Del Castillo, a 105-year-old senior citizen from Naga city, is believed to be the oldest voter in the province. Despite his age, the man still gave his best effort to reach Panicuason Elementary School-his designated precinct.
Another inspiring report is about the 99-year-old voter in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. The voter was identified as Medina Untalan. She purportedly didn’t miss any of the previous national elections.
Medina had an aid, her own grandson, who does the correct shading on her behalf. She dictates the names of her chosen candidates. This whole round of process is being closely monitored by the a member of the Board of Election Inspectors.
Kudos to Francisco Del Castillo and Medina Untalan for ensuring that their votes are being counted in the 2016 elections.
