Philippines - A high speed collision of two pickup trucks almost instantly killed both drivers. The accident involved two famous trucks namely Nissan Navara and Ford Ranger. The drivers of the vehicles including several passengers were critically wounded due to the high impact of the collision.

The accident was captured in a video by one of the citizens, Mae Minda Sta. Maria, who responded to the mishap. It is mentioned in the video that the driver of Nissan Navara allegedly tried to overtake a vehicle without considering the fast approaching Ford Ranger in the opposite lane. A man claimed that he stepped and applied heavy pressure on the foot-operated brake system and pulled the brake lever but it didn't do much help as the two trucks crashes right into each other.

Massive damage is seen in the two vehicles which could potentially leave these trucks off from the streets and will simply end up in the junk yard.

NDBC news cited that at least four persons were allegedly injured in this unfortunate accident along the national highway in Barangay Malasila, Makilala, North Cotabato Monday morning.

Netizens quickly formulated the root cause of the accident and blamed the drivers for being reckless while on the road. Similar comments were also shared by other concerned netizens citing drivers in the Philippines lack road discipline. The accident occurred at 6:30a.m and the accident prone highway is very visible from a distant location since there were no fog nor low-lying clouds.

Meanwhile, the said highway in Barangay Malasila where the incident took place is one of the dreaded roads in the province. Local residents previously declared this site as 'killer highway' due to the numerous car accidents involved in the area. Road signs have been installed in the location but it appears useless when drivers would easily ignore the signs and choose to cross lanes at a high speed.
