Arrogant China Returns Note and Rejects UN Arbitration on West Philippine Sea
Arrogant China returns Note and Notice of UN arbitration on West Philippine Sea
The arrogance of China has exceeded its limits. China rejected the UN arbitration which was initiated by Republic of the Philippines on January 22, 2013 to come up with a peaceful resolution against China's nine-dash-line claim on the West Philippine Sea.
Yesterday, China represented by Chinese Ambassador Ma Keqing returned the Notification and Statement of Claim of the Philippine government at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
The Chinese Ambassador reportedly told the DFA that the Chinese government would not accept international proceedings over the dispute.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei, Ma said China considered both the note and notice of arbitration as having “serious mistakes both in fact and law.”
Beijing urges Manila to get back to bilateral negotiations to settle the dispute.
Despite the rejection of China, the DFA officials said that it will not interfere with the process of UN arbitration.
“The arbitration will proceed under Annex VII of UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea ) and the 5-member arbitration panel will be formed with or without China,” it said.
The aggressive claim of China is the core issue of the Philippines’ arbitration case.
China claims the whole China sea because of its literal interpretation. It's an absurb claim just like saying Indian ocean belongs to India alone.
China's arrogance is bolstered by its People's Liberation Army's skyrocketing budget of US$106.4 billion in 2012.
China has 62 submarines, 13 destroyers, 65 frigates and recently deployed their first aircraft carrier Liaoning-- formerly known as Varyag in Ukraine.
But dear readers of DiversityHuman.com, WE ARE NOT AFRAID OF CHINA.
And even if China would say, "Back off Philippines!", we will always reply back and say--"BACK OFF *SSHOLE!"
