Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile announced his intent to propose a blogging law in the Philippines.

The senator's intention maybe good but setting blogging policy or defining blogging guidelines will direct us to China's approach. Doing so will redefine the face of the Philippine democracy. This is an ultimate way to kill freedom of speech in our country.

If we have to take a look Artcile III (Bill of Rights) Section 4 it says,

No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.

To all of the lawmakers in the Philippines:

1. Don't make us stupid. Section 4 of the bill of rights is very easy to understand. Don't tweak it, don't twist it, don't reinterpret it just to find an escape to pass the Philippine blogging law.

2. Bullying is different from blogging. This proposal came in because of the alleged plagiarism of Senator Tito Sotto's speech regarding his stand on the Reproductive Health Bill. 'PHILIPPINE BLOGGERS' were tagged bullying the senator. There are some of them who were bullying Tito Sotto but more than 50% of them were just simply 'BLOGGING'. OMG I forgot, the senators don't know the difference between a blog and a slogan-then how much more between a blog and bullying.

3. According to the news, they will gather 'SOME' bloggers to help them craft a better blogging law. This is a stupid approach. Please be reminded that there are so many bloggers in the country who holds a post in the Philippine government. That means, this approach could be prone to bias and anomalies.

4. If there is a Philippine blogging law then that means there will be sanctions. Wow! That could be either a fine or imprisonment right? So, the people who are paying taxes are now being fined because of the freedom of expression. That's a big B.. not a Blog not a Bully either, it's a big BULL CRAP.

If Senator Juan Ponce Enrile would really like to push this proposal, there is only one thing that I would ask him. Let all bloggers in the Philippine community cast their votes. It's just a simple yes or no. To lessen any violent reactions, why not include this question in the 2016 elections so that all voters can participate?

The last part of the voter's questioner is:

Would you like to have a blogging law in the Philippines? (Y/N).

The question sounds stupid right? That's how the Philippine Senate treats the Philippine bloggers.
