Jiro started his acting career when he was 7 for the movie “Pamana”. Two years after, he appeared in the movie “Gimik: The Reunion”. In 2001, he was chosen as best child actor in the Metro Manila Film Festival for the movie “Bagong Buwan”.
The most unforgettable and memorable event of his acting career occurred in 2004 when he was named as best actor for the movie “Magnifico”. In 2010, he was one of the actors in the movie “Ang Tanging Ina” with the famous comediene Ai Ai delas Alas.
Shocking history of Jiro Manio
For the longest time, Jiro was an asset of ABS-CBN Star Magic circle from 2001 to 2009 but the talent center dropped him several times from the list because of his alleged “unprofessional and irresponsible behavior”. There were many instances that the talent managers of Star Magic issued a statement about his unprofessional work ethics prompting him to drop his acting career. Later, he voluntarily went to a rehabilitation facility to undergo some treatment.
The famous film director Maryo J. de los Reyes tried to help the young actor to make a comeback. Unfortunately, he missed the second chance. He was offered with many roles and TV guestings but he failed to fulfill his commitments. Maryo attempted to educate Jiro and taught him how to address pressure but things didn’t go well. The manager gradually allowed him to do things on his own but de los Reyes was hoping that Jiro would someday realize the importance of handling personal issues.
