Call Center Agent, Edward Castro Loses Arm in Eastwood Accident
Edward Castro, a 33-year-old call center agent lost his right arm after the scaffolding of a construction site fell on him last Wednesday in Libis, Quezon City.
Castro woke up inside the intensive care unit of a hospital. He last remembered walking under the construction site of Megaworld inside Eastwood at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.
Doctors had to amputate Edward Castro’s arm which was badly broken by the accident.
“Kahit anong pagi-ingat mo, kapag aksidente talaga, darating at darating. Accept na lang. Kung may caution man lang na mayroong ginagawa doon sa taas na very visible, hindi lang ako para yung iba makapag-ingat din,” he said.
“May ginagawa daw sa mga 38th floor, humangin daw, nabagsakan siya ng may 5 meters na scaffolding,” said Castro’s wife, Ritchie Laborero.
Castro also suffered a fractured spinal column.
Meanwhile, Megaworld will shoulder the medical expenses of the victim.
Rogelio Lugue Jr., of Megaworld Corporation said in a statement;
“We are greatly saddened by this unfortunate incident. Our first priority is to attend to the victim and ensure that he has received proper medical assistance and financial support.”
