Daniel Padilla World's Best Male Artist Nominee |World Music Awards 2013
The young Kapamilya actor and singer Daniel Padilla has been nominated for World's Best Male Artist in this year’s World Music Awards (WMA), which “honors the best-selling recording artists from every continent,” the ABS-CBN news reports.
Daniel Padilla's nomination at the World Music Awards was a result of the massive sales of his debut album "Hinahanap-Hanap Kita" in May 2012. Padilla's first album purportedly reached platinum-record status only three months after its release. The audio content head of Star Records, Jonathan Manalo, said the actor's CD was "the fastest album to turn platinum" in 2012.
Padilla was also nominated as World’s Best Live Act and World’s Best Entertainer of the Year along with Sarah G., Madela and Velasquez. Daniel Padilla, who is known for his hit song “Nasa Iyo Na Ang Lahat,” will be up against big recording artists like Justin Bieber, Psy and Elton John.
Meanwhile, according to the website of WMA, it said the awards “are presented on sales merit and voted by the public on the Internet.”
“There is no jury involved and the Awards truly reflect the most popular artists as they are determined by the actual fans who[sic] vote and buy the records,” it added.
