Mai Li Fay, 8-year-old Snake Girl, Thailand's Latest Tourist Attraction
Bangkok - An 8-year-old Thailander named Mai Li Fay has something that prevents her from living a normal life. Due to her unusual physical condition and being known as "snake girl", spectators assemble at the young girl’s residence to have a peek or if they are lucky enough, they touch her and check if she’s real. Both Buddhists and Hindu pilgrims reportedly believe that Mai Li Fay brings them good fortune.

Dr. Ping Lao, Thailand's leading medical expert, claimed that the young "snake girl" suffers a very uncommon condition known as Serpentosis Malianorcis or Jing Jing’s disease. This kind of illness gives her lower body a distinct reptilian form and facets. There is no cure to her condition yet since only few instances of this abnormality have been recorded in the history of mankind. A source said that scientists and medical researchers have a very limited knowledge regarding this rare case.
While Mai Li Fay and her family’s rise to a bizarre stardom, their privacy and closeness have also been overwhelmingly compromised because of the endless line of pilgrims piling up in front of their house. However, the family found a brighter side and became optimistic because their once deprived status has changed due to the revenues that they continuously get from various tourists who visited their place.
Do you think this can possibly happen? Can you cite a familiar urban legend which is similar to the case of the snake girl in Thailand?
As far as I can remember, there is a Filipino Urban Legend regarding a snakewoman too. Rumors pointed out that Robinson Galleria owner’s brood was allegedly a snakewoman.
Hoax or not, stories like this amazes me a lot.
