Priest Bert Dunud hits media coverage of Cacai Ramirez' Funeral
Fr. Bert Dunud hits the media for allegedly “sensationalizing” the death of Cacai Ramirez a.k.a Rio Bianca Ramirez.
At the start of his homily on Wednesday, Fr. Bert Dunud took notice of the TV cameras inside the church.
"Bakit may media?" he said, raising his voice. He said that Cacai Ramirez needs justice and not popularity.
Those whose negligence caused Ramirez's death must be held liable.
Dunud also highly criticized the media for news reports that Ramirez's death was an accident.
"Magdusa ang dapat magdusa! Magbayad ang dapat magbayad! Ibigay ang katarungan upang maging makabuluhan ang kanyang kamatayan,” said Fr. Dunud.
Cacai Ramirez, who hails from Bulacan, was killed by a parked Advocate Transport bus that rolled downhill on February 8.
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has placed under preventive suspension 4 of the 11 units of Advocate Transport.
According to LTFRB Chairman James Jacob, the suspension order was issued on Tuesday and will last for not more than 30 days.
The bus units will also be subjected to regular inspection by the LTFRB during this period, while its drivers will undergo training and seminar.
