Official Statement of SYKES ASIA Released Following the Trending post about a Modus Operandi in their Recruitment Facility

Sykes Management Team finally issued a statement regarding a viral post that has been circulated in social networking sites. The leading BPO company released a clarification regarding the alleged suspect behind a certain modus operandi targeting call center applicants in Sykes Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong city.

On its official Facebook fanpage, the BPO company stated the following:

Over the past few days, a post has been circulating regarding a modus operandi. Someone is pretending to be part of a BPO recruitment team and giving unusual instructions to our applicants which unfortunately resulted to loss of our applicants’ personal belongings. One such incident happened outside SYKES premises. While we are relieved that the applicant has not been harmed and been given help by both authorities and officials of the SYKES recruitment team, our company would like to ensure that the incident will not happen again.

It is of utmost importance for us that our employees and applicants are safe. For our walk-in applicants, our recruitment teams are well-trained to assist you with anything you’ll need to ensure smooth interview and hiring process. Please make sure to reach out to them the moment you enter our recruitment hubs, and to ask what are the specific SYKES phone lines provided by SYKES recruiters.

SYKES would also like to reiterate that WE DO NOT REQUIRE ANY SORT OF FEE or VERY SPECIFIC DRESS CODES for all our applicants. There have been several incidents before this in other call centers wherein applicants became victims of hoax and scams. SYKES is working closely with the Contact Center Association of the Philippines and Business Processing Association of the Philippines to alert other members of the industry about incidents such as this so it can be prevented.
