Globe 'hackers': Korean Yooun Nayong and Carlo Dadulla (Pinoy) Arrested in Mandaluyong City
Globe hackers Yooun Nayong and Carlo Dadulla were arrested by police in Mandaluyong City.
Yooun Nayong, a 37-year-old Korean and Carlo Dadulla, 21-year-old Filipino have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a scam and hacking the system of Globe Telecom Company.
Recovered from Nayong's possession were:
1. 444 pieces of Globe Telecom SIM cards
2. 100 pcs. Touch Mobile prepaid SIM cards
3. GSM modem with 124 SIM ports
4. 6 cellular phones
5. A laptop computer
6. Various computer cables/peripherals used in hacking globe telecommunication services
7. A Korean passport bearing the name of Kim Yunsug
Seized from Carlo Dadulla were 260 pieces of Globe Telecom SIM cards; 4 mobile phones; and, other computer accessories.
Authorities said the SIM cards and gadgets were used in bypassing and hacking the Globe telecommunication system, which resulted in the loss of around P3.4 million revenues in less than 10 months.
The confiscated items were brought to the Regional Police Intelligence Operations Unit (RPIOU-NCRPO) for proper disposition.
Globe hackers Nayong and Dadulla, meanwhile, were turned over to the Mandaluyong and Caloocan City Prosecutor's Office, respectively, for inquest proceedings.
Authorities said the operation was conducted following a complaint of Globe Telecom Company against a Korean national only identified as alias “Mr. Kim” and three other John Does.
A search warrant of the alleged Globe hackers was issued by Hon. Zaldy B. Docena of the Regional Trial Court Branch 170 of Malabon City for violation of Republic Act 8484 or the Access Devices Regulation Act of 1998.
