Tropical Depression "Nando" Update|PAGASA Weather Bulletin (As of 5pm, August 27, 2013)
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released its 3rd weather bulletin update regarding the new tropical depression, NANDO at 11a.m today.
PAGASA pointed out that tropical depression Nando has maintained its strength, a maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. The state weather bureau has located Nando's coordinate at 15.7°N, 126.6°E in the province of Aurora.
What to expect?
An estimated rainfall amount from 5 - 15 mm per hour is expected to occur in the areas within the 400 km diameter of the Tropical Depression, which means all impacted locations will experience moderate to heavy rains. The weather bulletin update also indicated that "NANDO" will enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Southern Luzon including Metro Manila, and over Western Visayas.
PAGASA warned that sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboard of Central and Southern Luzon. Hence, the public and the disaster coordinating councils concerned are advised to take appropriate actions and watch for the next bulletin to be issued at 5 PM today.
Areas identified having Public Storm Warning Signal (Signal#1) are Batanes Group of Islands Cagayan incl. Calayan Babuyan Group of Islands.
