UP Street Dance Club wins UAAP Streetdance Competition 2013
University of the Philippines Street Dance Club grabbed its first UAAP street dance competition championship on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at the SM North Skydome in Quezon City.
Its performance was good enough to dethrone back-to-back champion La Salle.
Clad in a get-up of maroon, grey and black, the UP Street Dance Club impressed the judges enough to steal the title away from back-to-back titlist De La Salle Company Street.
UP Street Dance Club garnered a score of 91.17 percent, besting seven other schools in the third year of competition.
La Salle, meanwhile, ended its streak and finished second place with a score of 86.75 percent, a few points away from third placer Adamson Cast, which had 84.25 percent.
Adamson Cast, its first time on the podium, made a mark with its patriotic theme as it featured Filipino hiphop songs while dancing in a sleeveless barong.
