Lucy Liu's, an American actress, narrator, and film producer who became popular for playing the role of the vicious and ill-mannered Ling Woo in the television series Ally McBeal and who also appeared in several hit Hollywood films including Payback, Charlie's Angels, Chicago, Kill Bill, and Kung Fu Panda, made a random 'racist' comment on “The Late Show with David Letterman” which triggered a debate in cyberspace.

Asked if she “run[s] on a machine or do you run outside,” Lucy Liu replied, “I run on a machine—it’s easier for me. Also, if I get really dark, I’ll start to look a little Filipino. It wouldn’t match if I start getting darker, you know what I mean? I can get really dark if I’m in the sun too much.”
