BMM-Sara Helped Typhoon Odette Victims In Advance Way Before Manny-Leni Tweets

Posted on Dec 20, 2021 / By Felipe Curae / in Social Media

Manila, Philippines - The political campaign strategy in the Philippines for the Presidential seat pivoted to varieties of propaganda in social media. Recently, Senator Manny Pacquiao and Vice President Leni Robredo made a traditional tactics that immediately put them in a bad light. The two aspiring Presidential candidates vested their time to exchange Tweets rather than immediately sending help to the typhoon Odette victims in Cebu and greater areas in the Visayas region.

The people in Visayas areas were hit by a super typhoon last Thursday night, December 16, 2021. Typhoon Odette, internationally known as typhoon Rai slammed major cities and provinces in the middle part of the Philippines. While such event occurred Local Government Units(LGUs) in collaboration with several Non-Government Organizations(NGOs) prepared for the potential huge damage to properties and especially injuries to the residents in various areas along the path of Odette.

Due to the anticipated outcomes, LGUs and NGOs prepared advance evacuation plans including the readiness of the rescue units. These entire preparation has been silently done by majority of the organizations except for the camp of Senator Manny Pacquiao and VP Leni Robredo who both spent time in social media for posting unnecessary tweets.

Netizens were quick to compare these two traditional politicians with the Bongbong Marcos(BBM) and Inday Sara Duterte's initiatives. The later privately did what they had to do to properly provide response to victims of typhoon Odette in the Visayas. Unlike to Manny and Leni, BBM and Sara formed a solid plan on how to send variety of teams to Visayas region to distribute relief packs to all those people who were badly struck by the super typhoon.

Meanwhile, Davao City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte sends-off rescue and medical teams from City Health Office, Davao City Central 911's Emergency Medical Sevices (EMS), Uban Search and Rescue (USAR), Fire Auxiliary Services (FAS), Southern Philippines Medical Center doctors, and social workers from City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).

These low-key and not sensationalized initiatives coming from the camps of BBM and Sara even further made these candidates much closer to the hearts of the Filipinos compared to other presidential aspirants.
