Philippine Navy Chopper crashes in Sorsogon
A Philippine Navy chopper which was part of the search and retrieval operation for the ill-fated plane of late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo made an emergency landing in the shoreline of Sorsogon on Tuesday. See attached photo.
All four (4) navy personnel were safe including one photographer who captured this photo. This incident may further pose the capability problems that our Philippine navy is facing for decades now. Though we are currently making a fast pace progress in upgrading our Philippine Navy hardware, we are still using old and problematic equipment which is the cause of numerous casualties of our navy personnel.
When are we going to retire these pieces of junk equipment? In my humble opinion, we should have sent these to our local museum long time ago.

Due to continuous rain since yesterday several areas in Metro Manila are flooded. Mandaluyong, Makati, Quezon city, Marikina, Malabon, Pasay are just some of the affected areas. It was reported last night that the la mesa dam in Quezon city reached its critical level and engineers decided to open the emergency gates to free some of its accumulated water into Tullahan river. It was also reported that an emergency evacuation was in place to avoid casualties.
Below are photos collected from facebook which shows how the heavy rain badly affects the entire metro. A shocking photo below depicts several people making use of the power cables to bridge into their individual destinations. I hope that our local government should act on this because this is very dangerous and it may cost their lives if they continue to risk in using these power cables as bridges.
